Production Process
Cultivation and Harvesting
Yerba mate plants are grown in shaded forests with a subtropical climate. After 3-5 years, the mature plants are hand-harvested, picking the tender leaves and stems during cooler months to ensure quality.
Drying and Processing
The harvested leaves and stems are dried in the sun or with drying equipment to remove moisture and preserve flavor. They are then sorted, cut, or ground into smaller pieces for brewing. Some blends may include additional flavors.
Packaging
Processed yerba mate is packaged as loose leaf, tea bags, or pre-packaged gourds, protecting it from moisture and light to maintain freshness.
